For example, if no one else is advertising PCOS but you….you have no competitors and will rank high on Google search results. Remember, when you don’t accept insurance, you have to market yourself. There will be no networks referring patients. Being a generalist is not helpful here as you will be competing with other primary care providers for example. What makes your practice special that someone will pay cash and forgo insurance to consult with you? Most of my patients have insurance! They choose to forgo using it because my services are so unique, so specialized, so valuable. Tell them why they don’t need their insurance. Give your sales pitch!

Many practices go out of business within the first 2 years. Often because of having a poor plan and spending too much on staff and overhead in the beginning. Think of the big offices with tons of staff and nice waiting areas. It will be years before they actually make a profit because of overhead.

EHR software, automations, AI, Apps are all expected in today’s world. Younger generations don’t want to pick up a phone and talk. They prefer texting and direct contact with their provider, portal access, and results. They do not want to wait. This is all easily accomplished, not with staff, but technology!
